The department of Anaesthesia at Jeddah National Hospital (JNH) is an
independent service aiming to provide high standard of anaesthesia care.
The department of Anaesthesia provides
clinical services to all the sub-specialities
of surgery, including General Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Urology,
ENT, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedic Surgery. It provides anaesthesia
cover to all emergency surgery round the clock and conscious sedation in
areas like Radiology, Obstetric Epidural service, Acute Pain Management.
The department also coordinates with the ICU to provide adequate
services when needed.
Our department is
equipped with modern aneasthesia machines which have provision to
provide general anaesthesia to all types of cases. It has got an inbuilt
ability to monitor Tidal volume, minute volume, airway pressure,
disconnection alarms, displaying concentration of various anaesthetic
agents etc. Multi channel monitors attended to the machine have
provisions to monitor continuous ECG, SPO2, ETCO2, temperature, invasive
and non-invasive BP etc.
Presently the anaesthesia department has 3 specialist working in shifts. It also has 2 Anasthesia technicians who help and co-ordinate the work in the OR, during surgery.
